FAQ

Legacy Furarriums are those that were created prior to the species revival in October 2024. Prior to 2024, Glassies were not required to have objects growing from their fur and as such, these designs were not designed with that in mind.

Rather than forcing everyone to redesign, redraw, and update their Legacy Glassie, we have elected to make a stand-alone 'Legacy' rarity that is applied to all designs made prior to 2024 regardless of their traits or not. If you would like this rarity removed for whatever reason, you can Submit A Report and we will be happy to remove that for you!

Chrome is the former mascot for the Furarriums species. While he has been gently retired, you may still see him occasionally during events with his loving boyfriend, Sprout!

Sprout is the current mascot for the Furarriums species. He represents the base minimum traits that a Furarrium can have, and you'll find cute images of him all over the site. He's also active in nearly every event, so keep an eye out for our loveable mascot!

You can redeem any art you make that has a Glassie in it! This also includes writing and other forms of artistic creativity. Alternatively, you can earn seeds as a reward in our events, prompts, and dailies!

The Seed Shop is the digital currency version of our species, where you can acquire seeds to add-on a variety of traits or even create your own MYOs/self breeds!

When a mod has their customs/boutique slots closed they still might take bribes. Bribes are when mods are offered characters, art, or a monetary value that was higher then originally quoted to do customs while closed. You can make bribes whenever you’d like whether a mod is closed or open, and it is up to them if they would like to take the offer.

A moderator will have to get your form approved, but don't worry: you can still submit the design and form! When creating your Furarrium, you will see 'Transformation' listed in the creation process. Make sure to attach the correct form before you hit submit!

Later, if you would like to add another form alongside your existing form, you can do so through the Update Design request that can be found on your Furarrium's page. It is important that you leave a comment explaining your intentions. We will have to change a few settings on our ends in order to make sure both forms appear on the character's profile.

Through the Update Design request, you can change any traits/images that you need to. This will NOT overwrite the previous character's form traits!

Unfortunately, you cannot submit multiple forms at the moment. You will have to wait for approval and then submit another image with the new form once approved.

This can be done by clicking on your Furarrium's masterlist and then clicking on 'Update Design' under the Settings tab on the left.
If submitting a redesign, with any colors or traits changed, you will need to follow all of the instructions it provides you.
If simply changing the image, write in the comments that no design changes have been made, add your new image, hit save on the other tabs, and submit a request.

Submit a prompt under 'Masterlist Issues', then provide proof of purchase or proof of approval, along with all the information you would need to get a MYO uploaded to the masterlist: 
- A working link to the masterlist image you would like to use
- Credit to the designer's (and any other artist's) account name, or a working link to one of their social medias
- All of the furarrium's traits

This should be done by submitting a prompt.
In the comments, please provide working links to sufficient proof that you own that Furarrium.
This includes Toyhou.se profiles with a visible and clear ownership log, or screenshots of a transaction between you and the previous owner that confirm the trade was made on both ends.
In the case of a furarrium being listed as UNKN, screenshots or links to proof of purchase or proof of approval would also suffice.

Under the Submit tab on the top right, you can submit a prompt and select the prompt 'Masterlist Issues' to let a moderator know about an issue regarding your furarrium.
In the case of traits being wrong, simply write out the traits that need to be changed, and what they need to be replaced with. Then, select the character you're referring to in the Characters option box.

Idol forms offer the most diverse design options due to the wide range of races, ethnicities, and sizes they can encompass. However, these restrictions are in place to maintain consistency, respect, and safety within our community, especially considering that young people under 18 may be present.

We prefer not to label ourselves as a closed species due to the negative connotations associated with that term. Instead, we identify as a collectible species/adoptable species. While official designs may be limited and cannot be created freely, we do not claim ownership over the concept of animals/humans with terrarium bodies; it serves merely as a unique identifier for our species.
If you would like to create your own version, we will not stop you or accuse you of theft. However, we will not tolerate claims of an official Furarrium design. Also, to participate in the various events surrounding our species, you must either have an official Furarrium design or use an official Furarrium design.

There may be limits depending on the specific event or sale, but generally, you can purchase as many MYO Slots as you wish during a sale.

While you may take inspiration from other designs, your Furarrium must adhere to our specific traits and guidelines. We have an IP label for such characters that will allow both the moderation team and users to know what your character is based off of!

We do not allow direct replication of existing Furarriums; in the context of existing species, you must have prior approval from the designer to turn the design into a Furarrium. If you have an original design that you want to turn into a Furarrium, you must have permission from the designer. Both of these have an Original label option that will allow both the moderation team and users to know there is another design attach to this one! If for some reason you are unable to get permission, please reach out to the moderation team and we will consider the case.

Announcements regarding MYO Slot releases will be posted monthly, providing the date and details for each drop. These will be posted on our official News page and in our Discord server!

If your submission doesn’t meet the established requirements for the chosen form, we will reject the submission and leave a friendly comment detailing what you need to fix before we can approve it!

Official designs require an MYO Slot if you want to participate in our events and lore! You can create an animal with glass body parts, as we are not gatekeeping the concept. But we won't recognize it as official if it is not on our masterlist!

A Furarrium is a unique species characterized by a body partially made of hollowed-out glass, fur patches, and distinctive ears and tails. They can come in various forms, including Primals, Archeons, and Idols. The name Glassies is a community-created nickname that is often used in the Discord server!

To put it simply:
Recreational objects are meant to be 'fun' or 'cute'. (Think: Stickers, games, crafts, or toys)
Decorative objects are meant to be 'pretty' or 'aesthetic'. (Think: Lights, objects on strings, tiny buildings, or electronics)
Mundane objects aren't either fun or pretty, they're just objects. (Think: kitchen items, tools, weapons, or everyday objects)
We have a document of every existing trait, and what category they fall into. If your design has an entirely new object that doesn't closely resemble anything on the document, you can ask in our Discord server and we can sort it for you.
Ambiguous Traits Archive

Mythical features are horns, fins, scales, feathers, halos, and anything else similar that occurs on mythical creatures. (All forms of wings are their own trait).

Magical Contents/Objects on Body include floating objects, pixies, magic spells, magic symbols, non-descript lights, and anything else distinctly fantasy-themed, used as the contents or the objects on the body.

Yes! Trait items allow you to add any trait to a design of that rarity or lower. (Using it on a trait of lower rarity still uses up the item.)

Seasonal plants can only affect plants and water, in the contents or on the body. It can change the color of the plants and water, as well as cause plants to wilt or die and water to freeze into ice. The color or shape must also believably change because of the changing seasons. (E.G. no changing your water from blue to red).

Changing the shape or color of the furarrium's markings or other contents besides plants or water will count as multiform or color-changing. 

Furarriums can be ANY mammal species (and dragons), but species are linked to trait rarities. By default, all Furarriums are dogs.

Cats are Ultra Rare.

Foxes and Bunnies are available in Spring.

Big Cats and Otters are available in Summer.

Wolves and Raccoons are available in Autumn.

Dragons and Deer are available in Winter.

You also have the ability to have your Furarrium be any mammal species using an Elusive trait.

Elusive traits aren't normally available to use for MYOs - they're generally reserved for customs, breeding batches, adopts, etc.
However, very rarely, Elusive MYO slots and trait items will be given out for events or opened for purchase.

On the other hand, Fabled traits are extremely rare. They can only ever be acquired through customs and adopts, and breeding batches featuring characters with fabled traits will only have ONE child with that trait.

You can use either! Some non-premium seasonal traits overlap with non-seasonal traits, and this is intentional. These objects are available for use year-round, but are free to use during that season. So, the answer is: use whichever trait will save you money!

Unless you have a seasonal trait item, you are unable to edit the seasonal traits of a design once you have submitted it and gotten it approved. This goes the same for designs you acquired from another person: you will need a seasonal trait item to add-on anymore.

You can, but not through MYOs or items; they will only be available through customs, breeding batches, and adopts, and will be as expensive as an elusive trait.

Seasonal traits are traits you can add-on to your MYO slots for free, but only during that season. These include unique species, contents, body elements, and more, that you can't get through any year-round trait. Once the season has passed, you are no longer able to redeem those traits for free if you have not yet submitted your MYO.

Once you have submitted an MYO slot, you are unable to redesign them to add-on seasonal traits for free. However, sometimes we will offer seasonal trait items that can be redeemed during any season to add-on to existing designs!

Almost all seasonal traits are free to use during the season, but there are one or two seasonal traits that can only be acquired through Seasonal Trinket items, called Premium seasonal traits.
These traits are Plush Body, Melted Glass, Exposed Skeleton, Zombie Body, and Ice Body.
These items can be purchased during MYO and Item slot openings, and through The Seed Shop.

The seasons rotate every 3 months and always start on the 1st of the month:
Spring: March, April, May
Summer: June, July, August
Autumn: September, October, November
Winter: December, January, February

You can also tell what season it is simply by going to the home page, where the current season will be displayed.

If your Furarrium's species usually has a bob tail and antlers, like a deer, or long ears, like a rabbit - or any other species and trait combination - you do not need to have a MYO with that trait's rarity to use that trait. (In other words, you can add that trait onto your design for free). However, you still need to add that to your design's list of traits when submitting your MYO.

Making an account lets you change the website's theme.
There's a dark theme (named Starry Night) along with holiday themes.

A decorator theme is an overlay on top of an existing theme. It is commonly used to change a few aspects of an existing designs. Examples would include our 'Starry Nights' theme paired with the 'Non Starry Nights' decorator theme, which removes the glowing functionality for readability. Another example includes the 'Readablity' Decorator themes, which aims to improve user experience by changing all font towards a more user-friendly font style.

You can change the theme by going to your account settings and scrolling down to the Theme option.

In the event that you don't have a Furarrium and want to participate in official events, you can answer prompts using our mascot, Sprout! He'd be thrilled to let you draw him.

You can also ask around in our Discord server to see if anyone would love to have their character drawn for free!

You may aquire random boxes, or presents, through events and dailies. These boxes need to be opened, at which point they will randomly give you a prize.

To open it, go to your profile, access your inventory, and click on the item you want to open.
From there, click on the checkbox on the left of the popup box, click on Use Slot, then click on the Open button that appears.

You'll then receive your shiny new item! It'll tell you what you got in a pop-up box at the top of the screen.

If a piece is multiple different drawings placed onto the same canvas, we ask that you separate the ones with Furarriums in it when submitting to the Artist Hub.
If a piece is a scene that features multiple characters, including Furarriums, you are allowed to submit the entire piece to the Artist Hub - BUT you are only allowed to redeem seeds for the Furarriums in the piece.

All openings for guest artist or moderator positions will be announced in the News and in the Announcements server on Discord.
Asking a moderator directly to become a guest artist or moderator will not result in getting the position, so please refrain from asking.

The best thing to do would be to discuss with other members of the community in the #myo-inspirations channel of our Discord.
However, there's no punishment for submitting a MYO design with incorrect traits or an illegal design - we will reject your submission with an explanation as to why, allowing you to correct it and resubmit.

Long-form story events take place in the canon lore, but there is no requirement that your furarrium has to follow the canon lore.
Our lore includes a 'canon multiverse', allowing your furarrium to be in any setting you'd like while still being completely official.
You are also allowed to use any lore or setting you'd like when participating in art prompts.

Taking design commissions are allowed, but the recipient must still use a MYO slot to make your design official. You are not allowed to make adopt batches or take customs for 'official' furarriums.
